Internships
Each year, Bearwallow Valley Farms offers a variety of internship opportunities in two categories:
Local Foods Promotion Internship/Volunteer. Not eligible for college credit. This opportunity is for students and community members interested in learning more about local agriculture. These opportunities are available from May-December each year and are highly competitive. We accept only three (3) interns/volunteers each summer. All positions overlap during harvest. Applicants must have reliable transportation and good time-management, be able to lift 50 pounds, and pass a criminal background check.
Dietetic Internship for those training to be Registered Dietitians (RD) or Dietetic Technicians-Registered (DTR). Eligible for college credit.
Local Foods Promotion Internship/Volunteer
The primary function of this position is to support weekly harvest and packing. Intern/Volunteer must be available on assigned picking days from May - October and have reliable transportation. This position will also be called upon to support the Farm Manager for farmers market sales, packing and delivery, and other duties as deemed necessary. Estimated time commitment is four to ten (4-10) hours per week.
Dietetic Internship
